The city of OXAGON will be at the edge of a new area called NEOM, designed to change the way people live and work in the future, providing a sustainable alternative to today's lifestyles.
“OXAGON will catalyze economic growth and diversification in NEOM, meet our goals under the Vision 2030 strategy, help protect the environment while creating jobs and contributing to the development of NEOM," said Mohammed bin Salman, crown prince of Saudi Arabia.
OXAGON will apply the principle of living in harmony with nature and be one of the most technologically advanced logistics centers in the world, integrating the most modern seaport and airport. The city has zero carbon emissions and uses 100% clean energy.
OXAGON will use current advanced technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), human-machine combination, predictive artificial intelligence and robotics. The project will serve seven sectors including sustainable energy, autonomous transportation, clean water initiatives, sustainable food production, healthcare, technology and digital manufacturing (including telecommunications, space technology, robotics) and modern construction methods.
The announcement by the Saudi government did not disclose the cost of building this future city. However, OXAGON will work closely with NEOM to provide all services. The new project has many similarities with the zero-carbon straight city called The Line.
